Come with us on a day expedition to see wild kangaroos and pelicans.
The Entrance, a beautiful coastal town with a large sand bar, is home to one of the world’s largest pelican feeding venues. Here flocks of people are joined by groups of pelicans. Every day volunteers feed the pelicans scraps thrown out by a local fish and chip shop. The ritual has been going on for over two decades and attracts a crowd of both pelicans and people.
At another coastal town, we see kangaroos wandering around. Sometimes we see these urban big foots leaping down the street. At other times, we see them in the people’s gardens. We see them grazing on the local football field and parkland. Depending on the time of year, we may see a joey poke its head out of its mother’s pouch. They are fascinating and mesmerising to watch.
Some of the options on our kangaroos and pelicans tour are:
• Visit to an Australian wildlife park to see Australian animals up close and personal
• Find some wild kangaroos
• Pelican feeding
• Take a boat trip from Manly to the city
